Plain Jane

Monday....yikes not only has a week flown by but a whole month! We enjoyed a peaceful weekend at the cottage. Some friends stopped by and made the time slip by wonderfully! I also enjoyed watching college basketball, Missouri v. Kansas. I was so getting into it that my sister thought I had lost my marbles. We come from a 'non-sports' family, so going crazy over a basketball game was clearly weird. I figured out that even though sports was never our thing, I can TOTALLY get into it! This stemming from my fierce competitive nature, I'm sure. The game went into overtime and ended in Kansas winning.  I didn't want them to win as it was their home court and the vast majority of the audience was Kansas fans. Oh, well it least it was only a 1 point difference.

Sunday we went to church at Pu'uanahulu Baptist Church. This quaint church was filled with 20 people, mostly kids from University of the Nations.  And, as always when we visit a church it was not a normal service. The pastor was away to New Zealand for 2wks. I'm not sure how this happens, but in all of our travels in the US to a new churches ,we have never gone to a 'normal' service. Either the pastor is gone, the church is held in a different place, there is a guest speaker, or there is some type of special thing happening. You name it and it's happened. I've actually started calling/emailing the church before we visit to confirm that it will be at the appointed location and time.
