Dead Dog Tired

Miss Holly Tuckered Out After A Run

Well after a very successful and full week I am gratefully looking forward to the weekend.  For the past 5 days I have done some strenuous workouts and I think...no....I know my body is ready for a break. But however much I hurt and limp [as I'm doing now] I have much pride in completing all the stuff Monty, my coach, threw at us. Why do I continue to push myself in Crossfit? Well, for the same reason surfers crawl back on their boards and paddle out for the next wave after getting tossed in the ocean and thrown on the unforgiving sand.

For the love of the GAME!!!!

New Friend

Isn't it great to meet a new friend? I find the most satisfaction in a sea of people to find a familiar face and greet that person. My conversations when I get home usually go like this- "Guess who I saw?!!!" my glee and excitement evident on my face. Or the opposite "It was a bad day...I didn't see anyone" said in the most depressing Eeyore voice. I figure the more people I meet the less times the latter will be happen. Though this new friend isn't necessarily my friend I'm very happy for Holly. Meet Lucy aka our howling neighbor!

"Hi I'm Holly. What's your name?"

"Lucy."

"Nice to meet you."

"Gee, you smell terrible, did they just give you a bath?"

"Yah, now I gotta find something dead to roll in"

"Later's"

Monday I took myself too seriously.

Tuesday I was happy.

Wednesday was overwhelming, due to paparazzi.

But today

I just felt goofy.

Hope your day turns up daisies!

Hello!

Well looking from the last post....I told your about our newest addition. Well, she has gotten much bigger since then and guess what??? "What?" you ask. She got a name! Holly Running Bear. Her current wieght is.....hold on let me check.....[several minutes later]. Whoa, she's so big I can't pick her up. Oh, she also told me not to tell her weight. I guess girl dogs are just like girl people, they don't want everyone to know thier weight. But she did allow me to state the following: she is almost a year now, she has been very good [well, that's according to her], and she has passed her test. What test you might ask. The BIG one. She passed her certification for being a service dog. Now it's all official and she's no longer a 'in training' dog. I do believe that that has gotten to her head. But I guess in dog world there's not much you can get a big head about. Now that she has passed the test she is mainly found relaxing. Something that she does very good, infact too good. Maybe, that's what she meant when she said that she was being good and she forgot to mention the rest of the line "good.....at sleeping and lounging."

Puppy Love

Guess who??? This is the newest addition to our clan....She's a golden retriever. Today made 8 weeks for her little life. Currently she has no "official'' name, but she has variant forms of puppy, girl, doggy and other pet names. No pun intended!! She really enjoys eating and sleeping, like what puppy wouldn't. Right now she is fast asleep in front of a floor fan. Her fur keeps her a bit warm in our climate. She has done surprisingly well for not being with her ma and 10 other pups [13 actually, but 3 died shortly after birth]. She was the runt of the litter, but hey, that never stoped anyone. Once she gets older she will be trained as a service dog for my little bro. Her calm personality will be a great asset.
