Real Fruit

But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's
have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous
of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Galatians 5:22-26

I was watching Pollyanna the other night with my siblings and it hit me how odd it was that a 'worldly' movie had some good points. There is a scene when Pollyanna finds the minister preparing his sermon. They talk briefly and her option on something changes his whole message the following Sunday. I'm not saying I agree totally with her line of logic or his for that matter but it brought to light a certain 'fruit' to which I'm lacking.

So today while reading my Bible I saw this and it reminded me once again be joyful for everything, good or bad.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy; yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 43:3-5

Love those Bible verses. I could use much more of that sort of fruit, too. Thank you for the reminder!
Oh, and I love that quote by Shakespeare. ;) Hehe.
