Music in the Air

There is something about familiar music that will set my heart to flight. In an instant transported to happy memories and fun times. Over the years we have collected Christmas albums ranging from the '50s to present day, from instrumental to opera. In fact the largest genre or type of  music we own is Christmas. Each year the number goes up as we add more to it. Some times it takes a few years for a ''new cd'' to become a favorite. For others it's an overnight sensation. For me two cd's stand out as my favorites. These hold the songs that tell me it's Christmas, even though there is no snow on the ground. Hearing just the first notes will immediately put me in the festive mood and remind me of Christmas's past. Steven Chapman's "The Music of Christmas" was an instant hit with me and my sister. Steven stole my five yr old heart and I have many fond memories singing with the songs while looking thru the cd's fold out. Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" has been played in our home for many years more then I have been around.  This is also my dad's favorite as he has enjoyed the cartoon group since his early childhood. Other favorite artists include Mannheim Steamroller, Nat King Cole, and Josh Groban. So this year, what music will you pop into the stereo? Tell me your favorites!

I love a Beatles Chrimstmas CD we have because it brings back so many memories. :) Any "oldies but goodies" are my favorites. :)

We just got Michael Bubles Christmas, which is definitely a winner for me. Jaci Velasquez is a oldie but goodie. I like Leigh Nash's Christmas. And Ellie, look at Owl City's Christmas single. ;)

P.S. What happened to Family Force Five? =D
