CrossFit, like an sport, draws people together that are like minded. Since joining 7 months ago I have found that no matter what level of ability, everyone is a winner. Training next to pro-athletes should be intimidating, but instead I've found them cheering me on as I achieve my goals [however small the goals might be]. Everyone completes in the workout of the day [WOD] and can modify movements to their ability. It's such an accomplishment to finish a work out and get your name and completed time put up on the board. High fives, fist bumps, and "good jobs'' are exchanged with all your fellow cross fitters as you cool down.
At our gym, Friday's are well known as one of the most intense WOD's of the week. This year my birthday happened to fall on none other then a Friday. I showed up for the first class of the day and was stoked to have the WOD named after me. Here is what we did...

"Ellie" for time

50 Double Under Jump Rope [150 Singles]
40 Burpees
30 Kettle Bell Swings  55/35lbs
20 Sit Ups
10 Hand Stand Push Ups
Run 1/2 mile
10 Hand Stand Push Ups
20 Sit UPs
30 Kettle Bell Swings
40 Burpees
50 Double Under's
